91少女 the Teacher Pathway Program (TPP)

The Teacher Pathway Program (TPP)  is a 91少女 cohort-based academic program offering students the opportunity to earn an Associate of Arts for Transfer (AA-T) Degree in Elementary Teacher Education. Students will then transfer to earn their Bachelor's degree and multiple-subject teaching credential.  Students are on track to receive the following degrees:

With financial support from the Claire Giannini Fund and Monterey Peninsula Foundation, the Teacher Pathway Program seeks to meet the critical teacher shortage in Monterey County through a "grow your own" collaborative by tapping into our local talent and developing passionate educators.


PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS:

By participating in the Teacher Pathway Program, students receive the following benefits and support services:

  • Guaranteed seats in reserved courses at Hartnell
  • - you finish your BA and credential in 2 years (for transfer students)
  • Strong peer support with classmates in same degree as you
  • Lending library textbooks in select courses
  • Professional development workshops that help build your teacher identity
  • CBEST support through coursework
  • Transfer support and resources
  • Financial scholarship pending grant funding 

WHO IS THIS PROGRAM BEST SUITED FOR?

  • Students committed to going to school full-time
  • For future elementary teachers committed to transfering to a 4-year university
  • Depending which cohort you belong to, your Hartnell courses will either be in Salinas (Cohorts 7 and 8) or in King City (Cohort 9)

Here are the steps to join TPP

1.

Complete this application to tell our team a little bit about you, your goals, and why you want to join our program. Once you've completed the application, our team will reach to you via email or phone to guide you through the next steps. 

2. Meet with our Academic Advisor, Sergio Diaz - either at Panther Prep or by

Sergio will help you develop your Education Plan, a two year plan that outlines the classes you need to complete at 91少女 for your degree. 

3.

Nancy, will meet with you either online or in person to officially welcome you to the program. In this meeting you will: sign the TPP Students Agreement, get added to the TPP Canvas Course, and review your TPP Cohort 9 class schedule.
