Institutional Research Office

The Office of Institutional Research provides comprehensive research services and support to 91少女 administrators, faculty, classified staff, students, and our community. Our services include survey design and administration, student enrollment and success data tracking, data visualization, data analysis, and research on program, service, and teaching effectiveness. We also compile institutional outcome metrics, support SLO/SAO assessment and the PPA process, and collaborate with other units to prepare and submit external data files to the California Community Colleges Chancellor鈥檚 Office and the U.S. Department of Education.

Guiding Principles

ACCESS: We make data as accessible and understandable as possible.

QUALITY: We take steps to ensure that our data is reliable, accurate, and trustworthy.

TRANSPARENCY: We believe in moving away from a 鈥渄ata gatekeeping鈥 model towards a 鈥渄ata democratic鈥 model, with as few bottlenecks in the data gateway as possible.

COLLABORATION: We work together with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and interpret data.

SUPPORTING A CULTURE OF INQUIRY: We empower others to use data to make informed decisions that benefit students.

ACCOUNTABILITY: We use data carefully and respectfully, and we take steps to mitigate bias in ourselves and in our research and data practices.

EQUITY: We consider the equity and ethical implications of choices we make when asking research questions and using data, and the impacts of our work on our students.
